John James Doran

Doran - John James Doran 93, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Vivian Morton Doran of Albuquerque, whom he married on Christmas Day, his daughter, Louisa Doran of Albuquerque; sister, Mary Manire of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law, Dr. Edwina Doran, Rachel Bliss and Anna Mae Janke; brothers-in-law, Roy Morton and Lee Morton; and many other family and friends including many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Louise Johnsonius Doran; brothers, James, Paul (his twin) and Dr. William Doran; and his sister, Virginia Pennington. He was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church and he was an ordained deacon. He received his Master's Degree from the University of New Mexico and taught school for 35 years in the Albuquerque Public School system before retiring. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014, 10:00 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church, 215 Locust St. NE. The family wishes to thank the staff of Preferred Assisted Living (Tender Heart facility) for their loving care during the last few months of John's life.
