Age 78, born in Providence, RI and a resident of Albuquerque since 1974 passed away December 16, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Oclides DeFusco of Albuquerque; his son, John A DeFusco Jr. of El Paso, TX; his daughters Elizabeth Wagner and husband Mike of El Paso, TX, JoAnn Huff and husband Jim of Van Buren, AR and Allayna Redstrom of Albuquerque, NM. Grandchildren Brittney DeFusco-Diaz of Rio Rancho, NM, Shawnee Wagner of El Paso, TX, Dannielle Burton and husband Jeff of Georgetown, KY. John is also survived by his sister Jane DeNofa of Las Vegas, NM as well as several Nieces, Nephews and close friends. As well as being a tremendous husband, father and friend he traveled the world serving proudly in the Air Force for 21 years. It is hard to put down in words the life of a man as great as John DeFusco. He has touched so many lives. We are all so blessed to have been able to spend the time here on earth with such a loving, caring and humorous man. No one was ever a stranger to John and he always thought of others before himself. He lived his life knowing he was here to serve our lord. Friends may visit FRENCH - Lomas on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 6:00 pm followed by a Rosary which will be recited at 7:00 pm. Mass will be celebrated Friday, December 21, 2012 at 9:00 am at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, 11509 Indian School NE, Albuquerque, NM. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 pm where John will be laid to rest with full military honors. Pallbearers will be John A. DeFusco Jr, Michael Wagner, James Huff, John Ray Vigil, Thomas Eolide and Jesse Brown. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans in lieu of flowers.
