John Allister Campbell, 68, of Albuquerque, well-loved brother, uncle and friend passed away April 26, 2015. He was a proud, disabled (Purple Heart) veteran of two tours of duty in Vietnam. This time, a defining point of his life, greatly impacted his remaining years and was a strong causative factor in his development into the man he became. John was an astounding magician-fabulator, a purveyor of stories and anecdotes, most told on himself. To spend even ten minutes with him was to be treated to laughter and fun as these wonderful tales bubbled forth to be shared, enjoyed and remembered. He always brought delight and laughter to those who knew or even just briefly met him. His innate sense of humor and stock of stories is greatly missed. John is survived by his sister, Connie Poore of Los Alamos; his nephew, Jim (Michelle) Gustafson of Los Alamos and children, Hunter and Ayla Gustafson. He is also survived by his niece, Heather Gustafson Beckman (Bjorn) of Truckee, CA and son Jonah; as well as his best friend and neighbor, Nancy Cox Brouillard. John is preceded by his parents, Allister Campbell and Constance Kates Campbell. Cremation and interment of cremains at the Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Santa Fe has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to <. A celebration of his life will take place at a later time. Please visit John313wake@gmail.com for information.
