John Theodore Bygel

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, John Bygel passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the age of 90. John was born on Monday, April 17, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah, his family moved to Albuquerque NM where he graduated from Highland High School. After serving in the Army during the Korean War he returned to Albuquerque where he married Emily, the love of his life. John had a successful career in the commercial trucking industry for over 35 years. In his free time, John enjoyed coaching his sons' little league baseball teams, reading, gardening, fishing at his favorite fishing hole in Mancos Colorado, an occasional golf game and was always present for his grandchildren's sporting events. John was a born again Christian and when able, was at church when the doors were open and always volunteered where needed.
John is survived by his wife of 66 years, Emily; daughter Cindy Sandoval, husband Gary; son David and wife Kay; son Wesley and wife Andrea. Grandchildren, Matthew, Katie, Taylor, Jake, David, Liana, Rachel, Sarah, Emily, and Elizabeth; and eight great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Phyllis Zuchneid, and husband Manfred of Tennessee and Mary K. Martin and husband Jim of Texas.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Berean Baptist Church, 3800 Eubank Blvd NE.
