John R. Baker, 92, left this life on May 19, 2016 to reunite with his wife, Hazel in Heaven.
John served honorably in the United States Navy. Following his discharge from the Navy he attended Harvard and Oklahoma Universities, receiving a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs for 30 years. John was a devoted member of the Masonic Lodge 60.
John is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Hazel; and granddaughter, Leslie Cagle.
John is survived by Betty Kirby; son, James Baker (Marylyn); daughter, Linda Hunter (Henry); grandchildren, Lori Dorman (Jason), Lisa Jackson (Kevin), Kevin Baker, Jennifer McDonald (Jarret), and Dustin Baker. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 700 Yale Blvd. SE.
