Joe Lopez, Jr., 70, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, completed his earthly journey on February 17, 2015. Joe worked extremely hard all of his life and was an excellent provider for his family. He woke up early and was willing and able to work at any time of the day or night to ensure he met his commitments - he never asked anyone for anything. He was a practical man who spoke his mind wherever and whenever he saw fit and lived life on his own terms. He succeeded in his efforts to ensure that his children also had the same hard-work ethic, and he took great pride in seeing their accomplishments. He is survived by his children, Karen Alvarez, and husband, Rick, and Danny Lopez; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Zoe Gil; his sisters and brothers, Pauline Romero, Eutemio Lopez, Mary Ann Romero, Linda Serna, Manuel Lopez, Cecilia Manzanares and Elizabeth Lopez, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, 87107, in Albuquerque. Inurnment will take place immediately following the service.
