Joe D. Fulmer, 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 15, 2018. He entered this world March 30, 1931 in Subiaco, Arkansas. Joe joined the Army in 1950. In 1951, he was honorably discharged and joined his family in Albuquerque where he met the love of his life, Erin M. (Buchanan) Fulmer. They married on March 3, 1954. He worked with Mortgage Investment Company for 35 years and continued to work in other financial institutions until he retired in 1987.
He was known for his love of music and served as pianist at Crestview Baptist Church for 55 years. He was a voracious reader, an avid golfer, and deacon of his church, but, most of all, he loved being with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Marie Fulmer; and his twin sister, Modean. He is survived by his brother, James; sister, JuneMarie; his spouse of 64 years, Erin M. Fulmer; and his four daughters, Joan, Beth (husband, Roger), Merilee (husband, Rick), and Patricia (husband, Mark). He was Grandpa Joe to seven grandchildren, Jackie, Robbie (wife, Amanda), Tommy, Samantha (fiancé, Will), Erin Ruth, Isaac, and Levi; and four great-grandchildren.
His life will be celebrated Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Monterey Baptist Church, 12501 Lomas, Albuquerque, NM, officiated by Brother Claude Cone.
