Joanne Thornton

Joanne Thornton, age 89, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Saturday April 10, 2021. She grew up in Colorado where she met her husband Bill, was a practicing nurse in Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and Occupational Health, and ended her career as a school nurse. Joanne was a cherished member of her and her husband's retirement community where she enjoyed the card games and many activities. She loved her family and friends deeply, was diligent in remembering birthdays and anniversaries, and always put others first. She will be greatly missed by all.

Joanne is survived by her brother, Rev. Richard Rowe (Ann); her children, Lorinda "Lori" Orlowski (Jeffrey), and David Thornton (Kelly); grandchildren, William Orlowski and Benjamin Orlowski, Sean Dunlap (Jolene), Mindy Leggett (Larry), and Isaac Thornton; and numerous great-grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Joanne was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years in November 2020.

A small private service will be held for William and Joanne Thornton at their retirement community center on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.
