Joanne Burkhalter Pickle died peacefully February 23, 2013 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born November 19, 1933 in Austin, Texas to Charlene and Earle E. Burkhalter. She attended Ward Belmont College in Nashville before graduating from The University of Texas in Austin where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She married Milton Kane in 1954 and reared her family in Albuquerque. She is predeceased by her parents and former husbands, Milton Kane and Dan Mueller. She is survived by her husband, Franklin Pickle; sons, Larry Kane and wife, Marian of Los Angeles, CA, Bob Kane of Helena, MT, Tom Kane and wife, Elisa; daughters, Cheryl Kane and Susan Kane of Albuquerque; step-children, David Pickle and Mary Elizabeth Webster of Arlington, TX and many other family and friends. She was a devout Catholic and active in the Altar Rosary Society. Friends may visit Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 6:00 pm at FRENCH - Lomas. A Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11509 Indian School Road NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112 or the charity of your choice.
