Joanne Lemmel, 84, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert Lemmel. She is survived by her son, Gary Lemmel, and wife Yvonne; daughter, Cindy Breshears; granddaughter, Crystal Baldwin, and husband Jarred; great granddaughters, Carly and Macy; nephew, Richard Johnson; great nieces, Renee and Annette Johnson; as well as many other loved and caring nieces and nephews on the Lemmel side as well as the Clevenger side.
Joanne was born March 3, 1934 and grew up in Albuquerque. She was the youngest of five siblings. She graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1952 where she met her husband, Robert. They wed in 1954, and had two children. Together they built a business, Ideal Dental Lab, where Joanne did the bookkeeping and helped grow the business. Joanne was a very dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed being around family and friends, hosting parties, being a member of the Roadrunner Square Dance club, the Cosmopolitan Women’s club, RV club, camping, fishing, and playing Bridge with her friends. Joanne will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services will be held Friday, February 8, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org. or for Alzheimer’s disease research at BrightFocus Foundations www.brightfocus.org.
