Joann was born at home on the family farm in Golden Valley County, North Dakota, to Ted and Dora (Haugen) Kunick, the youngest of three girls. Her earthly journey ended on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 with her family present.
In 1950 she graduated from high school, got married, and moved to Lewistown, MT where the three girls were born. In 1961, the family moved to Albuquerque. She worked at various jobs through the years and when not working enjoyed camping, gardening, Lobo basketball, Isotope baseball, and a variety of activities. Following retirement there were extended RV trips to Mexico, Canada, Alaska and many of the states. Her dogs were always a great source of joy throughout her entire life.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents, oldest sister, and husband, Konrad. She is survived by her sister, Ethel Kippley; daughters, Marsha Braaten (Sam Falk), Susan Hiller, and Paula Peterson (Kenny); four grandchildren, Emily Hiller, Abigail Longley (Paul), Seth Hiller (Katie), and Adam Peterson (Melissa); and seven great-grandchildren.
