Jimmie Jeff Rutherford

Jimmie Jeff Rutherford passed away on May 2, 2019 at the age of 86 in McKinney, TX. Jimmie was born to Jeff and Irene Rutherford on September 29, 1932 in Ponca City, OK. He was a graduate of the University of New Mexico in 1957 and proudly served his country in the Korean Conflict in 1953 to 1954.

He married Nona Mae Wallace on October 14, 1955 and they made their home in Albuquerque, NM where they had two children. They also resided in Centrerville, MD, El Paso, TX, Las Cruces, NM and McKinney, TX.

Jimmie was a Certified Public Accountant who started his career with Peat Marwick Mitchell in 1956 and went on to work for United Nuclear Corporation from 1963 to 1964, Elmer Fox and Company from 1970 to 1976 where he was a partner. He then starting the accounting firm Bock Rutherford and Company with his partner, John Bock in 1976. He retired full time in 2002. A lifelong member of the Baptist church he served faithfully as a deacon and in many other volunteer positions. His faith was an integral part of his life.

Survivors include his loving wife, Nona to whom he was married to for 64 years; son, Randy Rutherford and wife, Leigh and granddaughter, Emma of Frisco, TX; daughter, Laurie Rutherford Haese and husband, Tim of Plano, TX, granddaughter, Hannah Haese Bergman and husband, Tanner and great-granddaughter Eilee of Oklahoma City, OK. Other survivors include two brothers, John Rutherford of Albuquerque, NM and Paul Rutherford and wife, Susie of Henderson, NV and children; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Kyle Williams of Albuquerque, NM; nephews, Rick Williams and wife, Melody and their two daughters and David Williams and his son; nieces, Sandi and husband, Tarie and children. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lucille; sister-in-law, Barbara; nephew, Ronnie; niece, Erica; and in-laws, Tom and Nancy Wallace.

A private family burial will take place Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, NM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the World Missions Fund c/o Sabrina Green, Prestonwood Baptist Church 6801 W. Park Blvd., Plano, TX 75093.
