Jimmie Tom Quick, 80, passed away peacefully at his Albuquerque home on Friday, March 2, 2018. Jimmie was born on July 8, 1937 in Patterson, Arkansas.  He and Joan were married on June 7, 1958.  He loved the Lord and he loved his family. Jimmie laughed during almost daily calls back to family in Phoenix and enjoyed the noise and chaos of family gatherings here in Albuquerque.

Jimmie gave his life to the Lord at Evangel Church in Albuquerque. Since then he has been an active member of the church; delivering food to the Teen Challenge, being actively involved in the Men’s’ Ministry and enjoying the projects at the Trinity Family Church. He devoted many hours helping to build things for his church where he worshipped in his later years.

In Jimmie’s early years, he spent a 20 year career in the United States Air Force achieving the rank of Master Sargent before his retirement. He was an aircraft mechanic and quality control technician while being stationed throughout the world; including many deployments in the USA, as well as overseas in Korea, Germany, Libya, Africa and Vietnam. His last posting was to the Kirkland Air Force base in Albuquerque where he served until his retirement. After his retirement from the Air Force, Jimmie spent a 15 year, 2nd career, at Sandia National Laboratories. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joan; son, Keith Quick; son, Greg Quick and daughter in-law, Lydia Gina; Sherie Johnson and husband Louie; grandchildren, Aaron Quick and his wife Stephanie, April Quick, Jeremy Quick and his partner Nohemi Nevarez, Amber Quick and her partner Nate Carrion, Kaci Quick, Jadyn Johnson, Megan Johnson, Reilly Quick; great grandchildren, Damian Quick, Owen Carrion, Elijah Carrion, Hailey Nevarez,  Noah Quick, and Anthony James “AJ” Quick. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. followed by a service at 6:00 p.m. at Trinity Family Church at 6101 Paradise Blvd. NW Albuquerque, NM 87114.
