Jimmie Thomas Helm

Jimmie Thomas Helm, age 96, a long time business man and a devoted husband and father went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 16, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Gladys Helm of Sage, AR; his sisters, Melda Cone and Minnie White. He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Veda Byrd Helm; his three children, Linda Helm Circle of Arkansas, Laraine Helm of Albuquerque and Kenneth Helm of Clovis, NM; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

At age 21 Jimmie entered the military to serve in the Navy on a destroyer battleship during WWII. He returned to Arkansas to marry Veda and then moved their home to Albuquerque where he established a successful automobile business. He was an active member and served as a Deacon since 1951 at Highland Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018, 2:00 p.m., at FRENCH – University, with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. Private interment will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
