Jessie May Simmons, 90, of Edgewood, NM, passed February 22, 2018 in Longview, TX

Jessie May was born to C.A. and Sarah Marchbanks  May 13, 1927, in Abernathy, Texas.  She married Gerald M. Simmons, a long-time resident of the Estancia Valley, in January of 1945, and they lived together on Simmons Brothers Ranch, near Edgewood, NM.  Together they raised four children.

She leaves as her legacy four children, Jerry Simmons, and his wife, Linda, William Simmons and his wife, Melissa, Kathryn Gauding and her husband, Raymond, Jan Simmons and his wife, Dale.  She also leaves to cherish her memory three siblings, Catherine Lopez of Albuquerque, Charles Marchbanks of Albuquerque and Al Marchbanks of Panama City, Florida; 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, and six of her siblings.

Jessie May’s Funeral is scheduled for Saturday, March 3, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH -  University in Albuquerque, with her interment at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.   Her son, Rev. Jerry Simmons and her grandson, Rev. David Simmons will officiate the ceremony.  Flowers may be sent to French Mortuary at 1111 University Blvd NE.
