Jerry Anne O'Dell

Jerry Anne O'Dell went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on June 16, 2015. Her husband of 43 years, Leonard O'Dell, Jr. preceded her in death in 1993. Jerry is survived by her daughter, Terry Lynn Neal and her husband Dennis Neal of Hope, AR; her sons, Michael C. O'Dell and his wife Debbie O'Dell of Belen, NM, and L. David O'Dell and his wife Therese O'Dell of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her sister, Kaye Lockwood of Lubbock, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored. Jerry Anne Bartlett was born on August 1, 1933 near Sudan, TX to Cecil Clyde Bartlett and Allie Hollers Bartlett. Jerry Anne was the oldest of three children. She grew up in and around Littlefield, TX and graduated from Littlefield High School in 1950. She attended West Texas State University until the winter of 1950 when she married Leonard O'Dell, Jr. on December 03, 1950. A devoted wife and mother she worked in many professional posts until she and her husband started Len's Electric Company, Inc. in 1960. She and her husband owned and operated this successful electrical contracting business until Len's death in 1993. She then worked with her son Michael to help build MCO Electric, which is still in operation today. Jerry was devoted to God, her family and her friends. She put others before herself and gave selflessly to help others. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church for many years and remained active until her illness prevented her from attending. She spent her spare time studying the Bible, reading, painting, and time with her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for music and art and she loved sharing them with others. She used friendship ministry to tell others about Jesus, even as a patient in an assisted living facility in her last days. She commented many times to her grandson Shane, "I don't want to be here, but I know that God can still use me". She had a great passion that her children and grandchildren know Jesus as their personal savior. As we celebrate the passing of a senior saint don't let this day pass without considering what your eternity might look like. Visitation will be Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - University. Interment will be at Mountain Valley Cemetery in Edgewood, NM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Convention of NM, bcnm.com.
