Jerry D. Jones

Jerry D. Jones, 91, best Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa ever, wonderful husband, and Albuquerque businessman, entered eternal life on December 23, 2024. Jerry was born February 25, 1933 in Ft. Morgan, Colorado and was the only child of Edward and Dorothy Jones. In 1952 he married Beverly Dedisse with whom he enjoyed 38 years of marriage before her passing in 1991. In 1992, Jerry married Rita (Christine) Luke with whom he enjoyed an almost 33 year marriage of love, life, and song before his passing. Jerry is father to 5 children (Michael Jones, Carolee Dent, Del Jones, Coleen Jones, Paula Jones), 15 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Jerry wore many hats in his long life including being a sailor in the US Navy, owning a Recreational Vehicle Business, being a Realtor, and building Quick Porch Decks until he retired in 2006.

Jerry had many interests outside of his work life. These included music, being a member of the Sangre de Cristo choir for over 35 years and ministry to the needy, fishing, building and flying remote control airplanes, camping and family weekends at lakes, being able to fix anything mechanical, and loving all animals, especially his turtles. Most importantly, Jerry brought love, kindness, guidance, and joy to everyone who knew him. He was patriarch of a large family and showed us how to live an honest, Christian life every day. He leaves us with his good example and each other.

Visitation will be January 16, 2025 from 6:00 pm-8:00pm at FRENCH-Lomas. The funeral memorial service will start at 6:30pm. A Rosary will be held on January 17, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. John XXIII Catholic Community Church followed by a Eulogy and Mass at 10:30 am with a reception in the church hall. Interment will take place at a later date in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
