Jennifer Lynn (Montoya) Montoya

Jennifer Lynn Montoya, loving daughter, mom, grandma and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.  Jennifer was born to Leroy Montoya and Lucy Lovato on Sunday, November 5, 1972. As a child she loved spending her summers in Cuba, NM with her maternal grandmother, Mary Jane Lovato.  Her daughters will always remember how she “lit up” when she shared her memories of those times. She was born and raised in Albuquerque and graduated from West Mesa High School.

Jennifer loved rock music and especially loved taking her family on a road trips to music festivals around the country. She recently discovered a love for coffee, especially iced. You would rarely see her without an iced coffee in her hand. Her absolute favorite was Dutch Bros. Above all Jennifer will be remembered as a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend. She would put family and friends first in all situations.

Jennifer leaves behind her mother, Lucy Lovato; daughters, Alexandria Atler and Isabella Atler; granddaughters, Alannah and Analissa Martinez and Celeste Bisonette; son-in-law, Shayne Martinez; her dog, London; two cats, Mimi and Fluffy; and many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Samantha Martinez; grandmother, Mary Jane Lovato; and grandfather, Carmen Lovato.

A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2021, 10:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance in person will be limited with appropriate social distancing and masks.
