Jeffrey Thomas Horan

July 9, 1969 — September 3, 2021

“Life, if well lived, is long enough”

Jeff passed away unexpectedly after a short illness at the age of 52 in New York City, NY. Though his time with us was much too brief, Jeff made an indelible mark on the lives and hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Jeff was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. He was a proud alumnus of Albuquerque High School and of the University of New Mexico. Jeff graduated with honors with a degree in Finance and quickly set off to New York City to fulfill a lifelong goal of making his mark on Wall Street. Jeff had a distinguished career in finance that began with TIAA-CREF and Kidder Peabody. He then went on to become a Senior Vice President at Lehman Brothers and an Executive Director at UBS. He is remembered by colleagues for his incredible intellect and as a mentor who willingly shared his knowledge and supported the professional development of others.

Those who knew Jeff loved his sharp wit, even sharper mind, and his kindness. He was an avid reader and sports fan. Jeff earned his pilot’s license while in college and loved to fly both airplanes and helicopters, a passion he shared during a cross country, slow speed helicopter flight with his ol’ dad. Jeff could usually be found at one of his many favorite neighborhood restaurants, local bars, or exploring new places in the city with his wife, Sabah. He leaves behind a group of good friends in his long-time neighborhoods on the upper east side of New York City and in Patchogue, New York.

Jeff is survived, and deeply missed, by his wife Sabah Horan; Parents: Jeanne Toman (Ed-deceased) and Thomas Horan (Mary Ann Campbell-Horan); Siblings: Jenifer Horan (Lynn Spike Hawkinson); Becky Horan-Rosato (Mario Rosato); Larry Horan (Missy); Peter Horan; and Frank Horan (Janessa Trujillo); and his nieces and nephew: Shelby Horan; Marah Rosato; Katrina (Kate) Rosato; and Lucas Horan. Jeff is also survived by his very close friends: Tony, Dawn, Anthony and Vincent Castellano and Nikolay Popov.
