Jeffery R. Cole came into this world Oct 9, 1965, with a “larger than life” personality that stayed with him throughout his 56 years. His life, while much too brief in the opinion of all those of us left behind, was full of adventure and love. Jeff’s life was a journey of love. He found joy in exploring the great outdoors and spending time with his family.
Jeff’s love lives on in his only daughter and the luckiest girl in the world to call him Dad- Alexandra Cole-Sosa, son-in-law Ben and their five beautiful children. Jeff’s grandchildren adored him and will miss his epic adventures but will hold on tightly to the incredible memories they have spending time with the world’s coolest grandad. He is also survived by his father, John R. Cole (Helen), brother, Brett and an extended family consisting of friends all over the world, all of whom he cherished and maintained lifelong relationships with. Jeff was the best friend to all who had the joy of knowing him and he quickly became family. The world is a darker place without his bright personality.
Thursday, January 27, 2022, Jeff was welcomed to Heaven by his beloved mother Deborah Jane Martin Cole, grandparents, and many other beloved friends and family who passed before him. We know that they were thrilled to see his loving smile once again and to be tightly held in that famous Jeff embrace.
All who knew Jeff found comfort, peace, and safety in his presence, warm embrace, and heartfelt laughter. He is missed more than words can say but we can find peace knowing that he is with God alongside his loving family awaiting to share his booming laughter with us once again and to show off the best places he has found to go shooting in heaven. Until then not a day goes by that our hearts do not feel our tremendous loss.

To celebrate the incredible life of Jeff his family is planning a “Travelling Circus Celebration of Life” where we will be holding multiple services in his honor. Jeff was one to “go big or go home” and every gathering had to have food and margaritas. In such fashion we are planning the following:
The first gathering will take place in Dallas, Texas Sunday March 20, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. for a lunch celebration at Mattito’s Oak Lawn in the Vista Room. Please join us to share stories and our love of Jeff. Please RSVP to this event.
We will then travel to Tyler, TX where Jeff spent so much of his young adult life and still has many friends. If you’d like to join us at Lake Tyler for a picnic on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 12:00 p.m., please RSVP.
We will then be on our way to Oberlin, Louisiana for a Celebration of Life to be held at Coushatta Casino Private Room 1B on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at 11: 00 a.m. followed by a catered lunch and then interment at Lyles Cemetery to lay Jeff to rest next to his beloved Grandparents in a place that he loved so much.
