Jeff Otto

July 16, 1943 — November 3, 2017

Jeff Otto, 74, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, transferred directly to heaven on November 3, 2017. He entered this world on July 16, 1943 in Panama City, Panama born to Edgar and Mabel Otto. He is survived by his wife Vickie Otto; sister Sandra Brister; daughter Samantha McCoy; granddaughters Cammie and Victoria Johnson; great-grandchildren Zachari and Annie; and of course his black and tan coonhound Roscoe. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel; father Edgar; and brother Michael.

Jeff joined the Navy in 1961 because he was "tired of being told what to do"! He served on the USS Ticonderoga in the Gulf of Tonkin during the Vietnam War. Jeff was transferred to reserve status and discharged in 1967. His Medals include the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Viet Nam) and the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon.

Jeff moved to Albuquerque from Houston in 1972. He spent 25 years in Real Estate with a broker's license and his own agency, Jeff Otto Real Estate Agency. Jeff was a professional bowler from the age of 16 until he sustained knee injuries in a tournament setting.

Jeff met the love of his life in 1984 through a bowling league friend. He married Vickie in 1989 and they settled down with a slew of bloodhound pups. They adopted their daughter Samantha in 1996 and have been blessed with beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jeff and Vickie loved to travel and made memorable trips in and out of this country: Bahamas, Dominican, British Columbia, Mexico, and to the frozen tundra of Minnesota.

Jeff had a love of history, politics, and was the most avid reader on the planet. He also loved baseball and was blessed by a World Series win from the Houston Astros shortly before his passing. Most importantly, Jeff loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and is now with Him in His Father’s house!

There will be no service at this time, but do drop by his home to pay your respects.
