Born in Iowa, raised in Texas, and residing in Albuquerque since 1968, Jeanine died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 13, 2023. A beautiful, intelligent woman with a strong work ethic, she was guided by her faith and faced adversity with quiet - some would say stubborn - resolve. Born to Leonard and Kathryn Linnenkamp on Wednesday, July 27, 1932 she embraced the Great Depression with frugalness and chose to follow new opportunities that opened to women during WWII. Studying to be a registered nurse she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Blair, and in 1953 their adventure began. That adventure included Jeanine working as a nurse for almost 2 decades, crisscrossing the country, having 6 children and keeping them clean, fed, and bandaged (when needed), filling a sparkling clean house with the smell of fresh baked bread and canning anything she thought she could. Her Christmas "goodies table" was something to behold. She sewed beautifully detailed garments, compulsively ironed anything she could get her hands on, and danced whenever and wherever she felt like it. Her last Ceili dance was on her 90th birthday and she didn't miss a step. Robert and Jeanine cruised across oceans on luxury liners and drove across the country in their RV, enjoying almost 60 years of marriage as a team. Jeanine experienced the pain of losing her mother while still a young girl and that gave her the skills needed to continue after the deaths of Bob, her oldest daughter Dawn, 2 grandsons, and 1 great-grandson. She is survived by her 5 remaining children Bruce (wife Peggy), Carol, Brian (wife Debbie), Dianna (husband David), and Gavin; as well as 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great, great, grandchild. A Funeral Mass will be said Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church with Msgr. Bennett J. Voorhies serving as celebrant. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
