Jeanette (Gonzalez) Jimenez

Jeanette Gonzalez-Jimenez, age 94, was born in Garfield, NM, on August 29, 1927. Jeanette was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and aunt. Her passing was peaceful as she rose up from bed, scanned the room and looked up to the heavens, where she was welcomed into the arms of our heavenly Father on May 21, 2022. Jeanette was known for her love of life, and her special gift of nurturing her family and friends. Her radiant smile welcomed all those she engaged with.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, "Pete," who passed away 5 years ago. She was also preceded in death by 9 siblings; she has 1 surviving brother, Don Gonzalez. She is survived by her three daughters Diana, Melinda and Patricia; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She also leaves many cherished nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Mom devoted her life to her husband and her family. She helped raise them and enjoyed every minute of it. Jeanette was a great cook and homemaker. She always kept a beautiful home where she would welcome and entertain her family and friends. Jeanette was a devout Catholic. She helped raise money to build 3 Catholic Churches in El Paso, Texas. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the church choir. Her ministry included preparing and singing for funerals at St. Raphael's Parish in El Paso, Texas. Jeanette loved and served the Lord.

Mamma, our hearts ache, but we know you are now resting and with our Daddy. We thank all of our friends and family members for the love and support they are giving us as we prepare for the celebration of our Mother's life.
