Jean Carol Sanderson

Jean Sanderson, 83, went home to be with the Lord on September 15, 2018.

Jean was born in Berea, Ohio on August 26, 1935. In 1951 Jean and her family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Just a few short years later she met the love of her life, Luther Eugene Sanderson, they were married in 1954. Together they owned and operated Rainbow Gardens Roller Drome from 1955 till its closing in 1997. Jean was the smiling face that greeted everyone with open arms as you walked in. She made anyone and everyone feel as though they were a part of her family, even if it was the first time meeting them. When Jean married Eugene he was already an owner and trainer of thoroughbred racehorses, but Jean jumped into that world like she was born for it and together they became well known and respected.

Jean was a mom to many and made the world a better place to those that loved her. If anyone ever needed a family, a helping hand, or just a little love Jean was always there with her beautiful smile and open and loving arms. Jean was a loving mother and grandmother that always kept her kids and grandkids laughing. There was never a day that went by when she didn't let those she loved know how very much she loved them.

Jean is preceeded in death by her husband, Eugene Sanderson; son, Luther Eugene Jr.; mother, Margaret Gamertsfelder; father, Rober Gamertsfelder; sister, Joan; and brother, Richard. Jean is survived by her daughter, Debbie Arrington and husband, Jim; son, Robert Sanderson and wife, Julie; grandchildren, Jim Bob and Stephanie Arrington, Janell and Jonette Sanderson. Brandy Tenorio and husband, Charles, Sandy Murray and husband, Jason, Kayla Gilmore and husband, Brandon, Gene and Kim Sanderson and Jessica Hank; her sister, Janet Castle and husband, Jack; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and great grandchildren.

Friends may visit on Thursday, September 20, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque.
