A loving mother, wife, and friend, (Edna) Jean Campbell Peet has joined our Lord on August 13, 2021. Jean peacefully passed, with loved ones by her side, at her residence in La Vida Llena Community Life Plan in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jean was born on November 17, 1927, in Abilene, TX. Jean was preceded in death by her soulmate and husband Robert Peet, her parents Arthur and Ruth (Anderson) Campbell, her three elder sisters Beatrice, Blanche, and Donna, and daughter-in-law, Daveen Peet.
Jean grew up in a time that most of us could never imagine, she experienced the hardships caused from the Great Depression and World War II. Nonetheless, she also experienced the true meaning of what it meant to have a loving family who had faith in the Lord and in each other. Jean spent most of her childhood being raised in Edinberg, TX. After high school, she attended Edinburg Junior College where she majored in music to become an Elementary School Music Teacher. Jean continued her education, paying her own way, being the first in her family to receive a bachelor's degree in Education. From there she journeyed to Albuquerque, NM to be closer to her sister Donna and become a fourth-grade teacher at Sandia Base Elementary School. Shortly thereafter she he met her husband Robert V Peet. They were married in Central United Methodist Church in Albuquerque in 1954. Jean was an impressive homemaker, cook, and musician and taught piano and guitar. Jean Peet spent her life doing things that she enjoyed, traveling with her husband, skiing with family and friends, cycling around the United States, parts of Europe, and New Zealand. She was a determined volunteer for her church, the Albuquerque Store House, as an ambassador for Heifer, International, and as a missionary for Life Water, where Jean combined her love of helping and travel. She volunteered on several international water projects where she practiced her Spanish language and participated in bringing the Lord's message to striving communities throughout the Americas. Raising and loving her three children Arthur, David, and Rebecca (Becky) Peet; watching them grow and build families with each of their spouses. Jean was a woman of grace and love, and she is survived by her children, her nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, who will forever hold her gracious memory in their hearts.
