KENNEDY, JEAN MARTINJean left her earthly life on 11-16-12 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 94. Her pain is gone and she is at peace after a mighty struggle. Jean was born to Erma and William E. Kennedy in Kansas City, Missouri, where she spent her early years. She graduated from Westport High School in Kansas City, Missouri and William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri and attended Kansas City Art Institute, studying fine art and fashion design. Her passion was always art. She was an accomplished painter in various media, particularly pastel and watercolor. She was very creative in decorating, sewing and adding her personal touches to her surroundings. She had an interest in history, world religions and wrote prose and poetry. With a family of seven children, Jean had little time to work outside her home but at various times was employed as a decorator and in retail sales. For a time she owned a gift shop in Key West, Florida. Jean and her large family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1957, living there for several years, after which she spent her time in Florida and Missouri, buying houses and making them into homes until the next one caught her eye. As her son, Tom, says "She was born with a suitcase in her hand." Jean's husband, Reverend Seamon Krup, passed away in 1991. He had a kind and giving soul and they spent happy years together in retirement. Jean's only sibling, Catherine Kennedy, died in 2008. Jean leaves her children; Bill Wilson and wife, Dalana, and Don Wilson and wife, Linda, all of Safety Harbor, Florida, Tom Howell and wife, Heather, and Catherine Brusuelas and husband, Dan, all of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; stepchildren, Judie Roush and husband, Kit, Jim Howell and Chris Howell; grandchildren, Kali, Lauren, Shelly, Lisa, Brian, Mandy, Candice, Brittney, Jene, James and Sara; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jordyn, Riley, Chase, Hayden, Jason, Craig, Devon, Reece, baby Amaya, Cailea, Connor and Sonya. The family thanks all Jean's doctors and caregivers who supported her until the end. Special thanks go to her friends and to the truly loving staff at Brookdale Valencia where her last year was spent. There will be no services, at Jean's request. A small gathering will be held in the Spring in Kansas City, when her remains and those of her husband will be interred in the family plot at Forrest Hill Cemetery. Rest in peace Mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. We will miss you.
