Jaye Turner, 80, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on Friday, January 1, 2016. He entered this world on January 30, 1935 in Silverton, TX, born to Arnold and Kate Turner. He is preceded in death by his wife, Owana Turner; parents Arnold and Kate Turner; and sister, Jeanette Martin. He is survived by his daughters, Lesha Kersey of Rio Rancho, NM and Sheryl Casey and husband Danny of Greenville, TX; grandchildren, Jaye Travis and wife Tina of Sanford, NC, Mary Turner of Rio Rancho, NM, Patricia Kafka and husband Christopher of Wills Point, TX, Kayla Saenz and husband Ezequiel of Rio Rancho, NM, and Megan Kersey of Rio Rancho, NM; and great-grandchildren Ezequiel Saenz II, Jillian Kafka, Eliana Saenz, Sophia Saenz, Alexis Saenz, and Presley Kafka; sisters Janice Odom and husband Frank of Lubbock, TX and Joann Griffin and husband Jim of Del Norte, CO, and numerous other family members and friends.
Jaye served in the United States Army. He retired from Intel in 2011 after 16 years. He was an active member of Mesa Baptist Church. He was also a Volunteer at Rio Rancho ISD Special Education Department. He loved to fish, take road trips in the camper, collect John Deere items and spend time with family. We invite friends to visit FRENCH - Westside on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Mesa Baptist Church, 1411 Golf Course Rd. SE, in Rio Rancho. Burial will be held after the services at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque.
