Jauwama Roe

Jauwama Roe, 73, passed away on May 16, at her home in Albuquerque, NM. She was born on April 20, 1942, in Graves County, Kentucky, to Fred and Lucille Renard. Jauwama grew up in New Albany, Indiana, and graduated from Mount Carmel High School in Lawson, Kentucky, in 1960. After high school, she attended the Kentucky Mountain Bible Institute in Lawson, Kentucky, and Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. She worked most of her career as a teacher, taught at Crown Point, New Mexico, and was a substitute teacher for the Albuquerque Public School System. Jauwama married the love of her life, Chuck Roe, in 1967 in Littleton, Colorado. They were happily married for 38 years. Jawama lived a life full of kindness and love. She made each person in her life feel special and loved, and greeted every friend with a warm embrace and smile. One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother and showered her grandchildren with love and affection. She was a longtime member of St. John's United Methodist Church, which she attended every Sunday. For years, after Sunday service, she would go to lunch with her dear friend, Anne Crockett. Jauwama loved visiting with her family from Colorado, Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois, and loved to go on trips and cruises with her husband, siblings, nieces and nephews. Jauwama is survived by her son, David Roe, and wife, Anita, of Albuquerque; son, Jon Roe, of Coopersburg, PA; grandchildren, Taryn and Kayleigh Roe, of Albuquerque, and Matthew and Nathaniel Roe, of Coopersburg, PA; brother, Frank Renard of Mayfield, Kentucky; sister Glenda Renard of Scottsdale, Arizona; sister Melba Peralta, of Southern California; and brother, Fred Renard, of Mayfield, Kentucky. Jauwama was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck, her sisters Madelyn, Mary, Anna June, and brothers William, and Jerry. A memorial service will be held at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona St. NE, in Albuquerque, at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 19th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made to the University of New Mexico Cancer Center.
