Jarvis "Bum" Bumgarner, 98, died peacefully April 24, 2018 after a brief illness.
He is survived by his children, Betsy Bumgarner, Bradley Bumgarner-Kirby and wife, Hue Bumgarner-Kirby; his granddaughter, Quinn Bumgarner-Kirby and wife, Jenny Dumas; his great grandsons, Harlan and Henry; and many family and friends, especially the Causey family. Jarvis was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances; his parents, Emory and Gladys Bumgarner; and his sister, Peggy Ruth Elrod.
Mr. Bumgarner served our country in the United States Army Air Corp during WW II and retired from Sandia National Labs after 35 years. He was easy going and much loved, a talented musician, woodworker, loved to travel and read.
Services will be Wednesday, May 2, 2018, 3:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Burial will follow Thursday, May 3, 2018, 2:15 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. Christopher McIlwain, Liz Hayes, Hospice Nurse, his entire hospice team and numerous family and friends who were of great help and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Presbyterian Hospice, c/o Presbyterian Foundation, PO Box 26666, Albuquerque, NM 87125, or your favorite charity.
