Janna R. "Penny" Hogg

Janna R. "Penny" Hogg, age 91, a resident of Albuquerque for over 70 years, went home to be with the Lord Jesus on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. She is survived by her two children, Cheryl Groebner and husband, Jerry of Albuquerque, and Tom Hogg of West Hollywood, CA; three grandchildren, Lisa Mayhill and husband, Ron, Paige Lewis and husband, Jay, and Carrie Staller and husband, Kurt; five great-grandchildren, Avery, Alivia, and Savanna Lewis and Casey and Mackenzie Staller; and numerous friends. Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Jennie McBride; and one sister, Leona R. McBride. She was born in 1922 in Lincoln, NE and graduated from high school before attending the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Penny was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. She moved to Albuquerque and worked for Continental Airlines before her marriage to Thomas S. Hogg. After raising her children, Penny worked as a Leasing Agent at Three Fountains Apartments in Albuquerque. She was an avid member of Duke City Bridge Club and the Junior League of Albuquerque. Penny was a very social person, loving to travel with her friends. She loved animals, especially her cats. Penny was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014, 2:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming with a reception to follow.
