Mossman, Janie Louder
Janie Mossman departed this life for her eternal home with Jesus Christ her Heavenly Father on March 23, 2021 after an extended illness, which she faced with courage and grace.
Beloved devoted wife, mother and grandmother, loyal friend, Janie was an unwavering servant of the Lord. Janie will be grievously absent from the lives of all who experienced her gracious presence. However, she will be present filling our hearts with echoes of joy at the remembrance of her acts of love, understanding, and limitless compassion.
Janie was born to Fred W. Louder and Beverley Beacham Louder in Alamogordo, NM on January 25, 1936. She resided there until becoming a University of New Mexico student on a full Ford Foundation Scholarship. While at UNM, she represented Alamogordo as a Sun Bowl Princess for the 1956 El Paso Sun Bowl. Her escort for the Bowl was future husband Fred M. Mossman, whom she met while attending UNM. They wed on June 16, 1956 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Alamogordo and resided in Albuquerque where she lived the rest of her life.
Janie had an enormous compassionate heart for people and was active in numerous civic activities including the New Mexico Arts and Craft Fair Board of Directors, the Junior League of Albuquerque, Inc., President of the New Mexico Symphony Women's Association, and the Board of Directors of the Albuquerque Little Theatre. She was a founding member and the first President of Las Amapoles Garden Club.
Janie loved the Lord and ministered to over 600 women as the teaching leader of Bible Study Fellowship in Albuquerque. She served as the woman's prayer group leader involving all Albuquerque churches for the 1975 Billy Graham Crusade. She spoke in both Spanish and English to the enormous audience at The Pit during the Crusade.
Among her many talents, Janie was very active in the family businesses excelling in interior design for both commercial and residential ventures.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years Fred Mossman; her son Andrew Mossman and wife Ashley, grandsons Bennett and Jack Mossman all of Albuquerque; son Clark Mossman and grandson Ryan of Albuquerque and grandsons Seth and Cade Mossman of Seattle, WA; son Matthew Mossman and wife Stacy and granddaughter Tessa and grandson Ted all of Albuquerque; son Grant Mossman of Albuquerque; and daughter Sarah and husband Steve Wolfe and grandsons Zachary, Nathaniel, Samuel and granddaughter Madeleine Jane Wolfe all of Nashville, TN; great grandsons Caleb and Chase Mossman; sister in-law Lynn Louder and nephews, Ryan Louder of Thousand Oaks, CA and Jeffrey Mattice and wife Karen and their sons Chandler and Brayden of Mission Viejo, CA; niece Cheryl and husband Dr. Derek Turner of Alamogordo and their son Garrett Turner of Las Cruces, NM and their daughter Brianne and husband Andrew Lyon of Phoenix, AZ; niece Amy and husband Ian Stoker and their sons Dean Vermillion and Osborne Stoker and daughter Lena Marie Stoker all of Rio Rancho, NM; nephew James Louder and his son Andrew Louder of Dallas, TX; nephew Jeremy Louder of Dallas, TX and his daughter Kamrynn Louder of Newport News, VA; cousins Laurie Scott and Rebecca Reese of Albuquerque, Ronald Beacham of Walnut, CA, Gloria Killian of Alamogordo and Craig Beal of Albuquerque; precious goddaughters Angela Marie Wulbrecht of Santa Rosa, CA and Julia Bursum Arnold of Albuquerque.
Janie was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Gerald (Jerry) Louder and Barry Louder; her sister Nancy Gish and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A private family Graveside Service was officiated by Pastor Josh Hunt, interment took place at the historic Louder Beacham Family section at the Monte Vista Cemetery in Alamogordo.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the many loving attentive staff members at Northridge Alzheimer's Care Unit and to Hospice De La Luz and Dr. Ricardo Ortega.
