Janet Wilson Ferguson

Janet Wilson Ferguson, age 95, went to be with the Lord March 16, 2015. She is survived by her three daughters, Jane Armayor and husband, Rick, Carol Henderson and husband, William G, and Betty McKinnon and husband, Doug. She is also survived by her grandchildren, who knew her as "Doll", Chuck Moore, Travis Armayor and wife, Jennifer, David Armayor and wife, Jill, Carolyn Henderson, Stephanie Henderson, Brian Henderson and wife, Tara, Luke McKinnon and wife, Joy, Susanne Rorabacher and husband, Ben; 15 great-grandchildren; her sister Mary Waldrep of San Antonio, TX and many other family and friends. Janet was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Dr. Travis W. Ferguson and her parents, S. G. and Izetta Wilson. Born and raised in Texas, she was a proud graduate of The University of Texas with a degree in dietetics. She met Travis Ferguson during his last year of medical school and married just prior to his graduation. Blessed with three daughters, she delighted in family. They moved to Albuquerque in 1947 where they were active as a family at First Baptist Church where she taught an adult ladies bible study. She was also involved in the NM Osteopathic Association Auxilliary. Janet was a gifted artist and was active in the China Painting Guild which she and her friends helped start. She and Travis loved to travel. Her love for her family and her faith in the Lord Jesus were preeminent in her life. Her family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the love and care given to their mother by the staff and caregivers at Brookdale Place Assisted Living for the past six years. You were a great blessing to Janet and her family. Her family also wishes to thank Hospice of NM for their tender care in recent weeks. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 20, 2015, 3:00 p.m. at X Factor Christian Fellowship, 3023 Montclaire Dr NE. Cremation has taken place.
