Jane R. Reese, 94, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away after a brief illness on April 12, 2016. Jane was born in El Paso, TX to Richard and Nell Rudulph. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband of 56 years, Philip (Phil) W. Reese.
Jane is survived by her children, daughter; Elizabeth (Liz); son, Richard (Rick) and wife Kathryn and their son Ryan; son, Scott and wife Dinah, and Dinah's daughters Jayan and Jaclyn, their husbands and four children.
Jane was proud to have attended the Texas College of Mines and Metallurgy (now known as UTEP), graduating in 1943 with a Bachelor of Science degree, obtaining this at a time when few women attended college. She was awarded a 50-year membership plaque from The Daughters of the Nile, in 2008, and served as Queen in 1968. Jane was a long-time member of St. Peter's Anglican Church.
Jane was known for her unbridled energy, much like a certain battery bunny. She cherished her monthly luncheons with "the girls" from Anna Kaseman Hospital, where she worked for 10 years in Unit 300, retiring in 1986. Once retired, she volunteered for the Presbyterian Auxiliary, working in the Anna Kaseman Gift Shop. She also attended monthly "Stuff and Stuff" meetings, sewing stuffed animals for Presbyterian's recovering surgery patients. For the past ten years, the high point of her week was a trip to Mark Pardo's Salon on Wyoming. Thanks to all the ladies at the salon who took such good care of her over the years.
The family would especially like to thank the Doctors, Nurses, Techs and Specialists from Presbyterian Hospital, Emergency Room, Kaseman Skilled Nursing Center, and the Home Health Care nurses and physical therapists for the care and compassion they showed Jane in her final weeks.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016, 3:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming with a reception to follow.
