JANE ANNE MCDONALD (NEE FAHEY)Age 65, of Albuquerque, NM passed away suddenly on August 17, 2012. Jane is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Brian McDonald; her loving daughter, Kelly Anne of Albuquerque, married to Jason Smith and mother of Connor Brian, Jane's cherished grandson; her brothers Richard (Sonia) Fahey of Los Altos, CA, Thomas (Kris) Fahey of LaCrosse WI, and David (Kay) Fahey of Reno, NV; her brothers-in-law, Bill McDonald of Copake, NY and Francis (Alida) McDonald of Silver Spring, MD; sister-in-law, Katie (Kirk) Gibbons of Tampa, FL; and Aunt Alice Macintosh of Warwick, RI. Jane was a caring and nurturing aunt to many nephews and nieces: Bridget, Donald, and Anders Fahey, Ryan and Matthew McDonald, and Meghann and Kevin Gibbons. Jane was the daughter of Donald E. and Anita F. (Richter) Fahey, both deceased, of St. Louis, MO. She graduated high school from the Academy of the Visitation, St. Louis, attended Marymount University, Arlington, VA, and graduated from Trinity College, Washington, DC. Jane and Brian met while attending college in Washington, DC. They married in St. Louis on August 25, 1969 and moved to Albuquerque in 1972 where over the years they put down deep roots in the community. For many years she was active in the Friends of the Albuquerque Public Library and was most proud of her involvement in passing legislation to allow the county to bond for books. Her Catholic faith was important in her life and she was an active supporter of the Aquinas Newman Center at UNM and the Dominican Ecclesial Institute. But most of all, her family was the center of her life. Jane was a warm and caring person, loved by all who met her. Memorial funeral mass will be said on Friday, August 24, at 4 PM at the Aquinas Newman Center on the UNM Campus, 1815 Las Lomas NE with a reception immediately following at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, woundedwarriorproject.org.
