Jana Berry, age 79, of Taos, NM, soared her way into the great beyond on October 20th, 2023. Born December 30th, 1943 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was the creative force behind a life filled with love, laughter, and a touch of mischief.
Known as "Mom" to her son Kyle Berry, and daughter Carissa Berry, Jana was more than generous. She had a heart of gold, always willing to give a helping hand and a few bucks to a hungry soul. Her magnetic personality drew people to her like moths to a flame. Seriously, she couldn't even go to the store without bumping into at least ten people! Talk about being popular.
Jana's love for the Native American culture was as colorful as her paintings. She had a knack for capturing the beauty of life on canvas, and boy, was she creative! But her artistic talent didn't stop there. She had a rock-solid obsession with rocks. Big ones, small ones, pretty ones, and even heart shaped ones. And let's not forget her impressive collection of old bottles. She was a true connoisseur!
She was very adventurous, an awesome hunter, great shot too! She was proud of that. She also became a scuba diver, did sky diving, and loved hiking in old Native American ruins.
When she wasn't busy being a rockstar, Jana loved nothing more than going hiking and fishing with her son, Kyle Berry. They had some reel good times together! (Pun intended.) She loved going on road trips with daughter Carissa Berry and loved buying flowers together. She loved her sister Jean Taulman dearly they have been known to get into mischief together. They definitely had sisterly love between both of them.
Let's not forget about her Best Friend Chula (Dachshund) they definitely had unconditional Love.
Jana leaves behind a trail of cherished memories for her surviving family members. Her son Kyle Berry, his wife Margie Berry, her daughter, Carissa Berry, her husband, Ron Akins, and her sister, Jean Taulman, and her husband, George Taulman, will all miss her dearly. And let's not forget her amazing grandchildren: Ryan Berry, Alex Degenstein,
Frank Geving, Kara Scheib, Eugene Berry, and his fiancé Dani and Ashley Akins, and her fiancé Steven McCrory. They were the apples of her eye. Jana is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Desmond Berry, Wren (Jana) Berry, Aamara and Aaliyah Geving. What a berry special bunch!
Her niece's and nephew's, Gina (Taulman) Nicholas, Andrew Nicholas, Harrison Nicholas, Sierra (Taulman) Spung, Cameron Spung, and adorable little Carson Spung (ask him about his new friend kitty) will always hold a special place in their hearts for their fun-loving Aunt Jana.
Jana is now reunited with her beloved husband, Gene Berry, who took the express route to heaven before her. She was also greeted by her mother, Jessie (Tacky)Crary, her father, Bud Crary, her aunt, Jessie Louise Rowland, and her great-nephew, Hunter Spung who left way to soon. He was a lot like his Aunt Jana. They're having one heck of a party up there!
In memory of Jana's sparkling spirit, the family kindly requests contributions to be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Let's rock Alzheimer's to find a cure! http://act.alz.org/goto/Jana-Berry.
