James I. Wasson

James I. Wasson, 88, was called to his eternal resting place on May 2, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, James G. Wasson and mother, Melesia Tafoya; brother, Eloy and wife, Molly Wasson; brother, Arthur and wife, Mary Wasson, and sister, Rosie and husband, Ray Gonzales. James will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Viola, and his brother, Joseph and wife, Josie Wasson. James is also survived by his children, Tom and wife, Debbie Wasson, Sam and wife, Betty Wasson, April and husband, Andrew Silva, James and wife, Patty Wasson, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

James proudly served in the United States Navy and was later employed and retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He took pride in his home and working in the yard. He was a strong supporter of the Fathers and Brothers of the Maryknoll Society, living by the mantra, “A special dad gives his family… room to grow, courage to try, faith to believe, wings to fly”. As a member of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church for forty years, he was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ, conducting his life in a positive genuine manner and being an exceptional example and inspiration to his family.

A Rosary will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Westside. A Mass will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 5415 Fortuna Road NW, Albuquerque, NM 87105, with interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Please visit our online guest book for James at www.FrenchFunerals.com
