James Taylor Thomas, long-time resident of Albuquerque, passed away on March 30, 2015 at the young age of 99. He is survived by his sister, Lillian Roberts; nephew, Kenneth Roberts; niece, Constance Roberts; his best friends, Jim and Geneiveve Velasquez and their sons, Chris and James. He graduated from Albuquerque High School and retired from Mountain Bell Telephone Company. Taylor was a WWII Army Veteran, a true hero who served on Normandy Beach. Taylor was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and a loyal Lobo fan. He has held season tickets to the Lobo basketball games since 1966, when the PIT was built. He loved sports, spending time with friends and loved ones, and cooking. He so wished to celebrate his 100th birthday in July, but now he will celebrate it in heaven. He will be remembered as a kind and giving person and loved by friends and family. A special thanks to the Velasquez family for all of the love and care given to Taylor over the years. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University. Taylor will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
