James Allen Stout

James Allen Stout of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Presbyterian Hospital. He was born in Iowa City, Iowa, son of the late John and Della Stout. James attended Iowa State University, and went on to receive his degree in business administration from the University of Iowa. He married Sally A. Stout on August 20, 1960, whom he’d known since he was five years old. He received his Juris Doctorate law degree with honors from Drake University in 1963. He served in the US Air Force JAG Corps for four years, and then began his career with the Department of Energy. He retired in 1994, went on to establish his own consulting group.

James loved the Lord and dedicated his life to Him, and the service in the Church of Christ. He served as an elder, and had a generous heart to everyone he knew. He had a zeal for life, cherished his family and friends, and enjoyed a nice strong cup of coffee. He never turned down a cookie. After his passing, he was joined just four days later by his best friend and devoted wife Sally on February 13, 2023.

James is survived by his son Timothy Stout (Daniel Falcone), daughter, Ellen Steele (Jack Steele), and daughter, Pamela McCaskill (Marc McCaskill). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jacoby Steele (Salena Steele), Kaily Jones (David Jones), Leah Hersey (Nathan Hersey), and Emma Register (Daniel Register). He also had five great-grandchildren: Silas, Eli, Jeriah, Liam, and Evelyn.

James was laid to rest in the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico with his wife on March 17, 2023.
