James H. Stockton passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015. He was born on October 10, 1938 in Bogata, TX. He was the son of John Haskell Stockton and Una F. Black who preceded him in death. He was raised by his grandparents, Mr. John A. and Lena Stockton of Talco, TX, also deceased. He was also preceded in death by his sister Johnnie F. York and brother William E. Stockton.
Mr. Stockton graduated from Talco High School in 1957. He joined the Air Force in August 1957 and retired in February 1984 with over 26 years of active military service. After retirement from the military, he became a civilian with the Air Force in 1984 and retired again in December 2003. He spent those years at various jobs on Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM.
Jim will always be remembered for his bright warm smile. He loved his family and made everyone feel as though they were his favorite. He liked to cook for everyone, enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and canning with his favorite gal Beverly. He had a kind and gentle heart and will be greatly missed.
Mr. Stockton is survived by his wife Beverly R. Stockton; sisters Glenda Gail Green of Burkburnett, TX and Betty Ruth Dunn of Pittsburg, TX; his children John A. Stockton and wife Lisa, Marla J. Clary and her husband Jack, Jay M. Draper and his wife Heidi, and Todd E. Draper and his wife Diana all of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren; Seth J. Stockton and wife Erin, James M. Spain and wife Angel, Jessica Smith and husband Preston, Daniele Clary-Wils and husband Ben, Chelsea Clary, Daphne Draper, Justin Draper, and Hailey Brook Draper all of Albuquerque, NM and Ethan T. Stockton and wife Stephanie of Temple Terrance, FL; great-grandchildren Hayden Spain, Lena Wils, Harper and Emma Smith, and Ryan and Avery Stockton all of Albuquerque, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the Retreat Alzheimer's Care Facility in Rio Rancho and Hospice De La Luz for their wonderful care and love for James.
