James Reed

Age 87, a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, December 6, 2012. He is survived by beloved wife of 67 years, Mary Lou Reed; son, Mike Reed and wife Sue; daughters, Susan Miller and Jennifer Reed Callinan. Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Reed Jr. and Helen Reed. He retired from Sandia National Labs in 1980, having designed and tested rockets as well as having built the wind tunnel. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and was proud to have been a private plane pilot for more than 25 years. James was a member of Los Altos Christian Church. Services will be held on Monday, December 10, at 2:00 pm at French - Lomas. Viewing will take place from 1:00 until 1:30 pm. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Tuesday at 10:30 am.
