James O. Ray, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was born in West Monroe, Louisiana. He served 4 years in the Navy, and was honorably discharged. After a short stint in civilian life he enlisted in the Air Force where he retired in 1972. He then worked in the private sector for the next 40 years before fully retiring in 2012.
James met the love of his life, Mary Alcon, in Chama, New Mexico. She lived next door to James’ parents when they feel deeply in love. From that day forward they were inseparable except for the times when the military had other plans. They were married for over 66 years at the time of their passing just two days apart.
James was preceded in death by parents William Benjamin Franklin Ray and Carrie Bernice Ray, his daughter Deborah Graham, and his brothers Carol Ray, Theron Ray, Charles Ray and Bobby Ray. His cherished wife Mary joined him in death shortly thereafter to begin the next part of their journey together.
