d. January 13, 2016

James Clifford Pecha made his transition on January 13, 2016. He was born June 28, 1945 in Marquette, Michigan. He, his parents and his sister arrived in Albuquerque in 1950 where he lived the rest of his life. He was very talented and creative in many mediums. He graduated from UNM with a degree in architecture. Jim was a professional artist, a very well-known watercolorist in New Mexico. He was also a poet, potter, created beautiful jewelry and furniture and loved to garden. He loved his cats and named them after famous artists. Jim had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. He hiked and photographed most of New Mexico, the land he loved best and kept fit by swimming and hiking daily. Jim became the president of the Noreste Art Association and created a new gallery in Old Town. He also organized the Albuquerque Artists' Association. Jim is survived by his wife, Sharon Pecha; sister Connie Welty; brother-in-law Rod of Albuquerque; and his niece Rebekah Welty of Garfield, Arkansas. He was greatly loved.
