James Roger Ortman

October 22, 1950 — August 16, 2013

Age 62, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1972, died Friday August 16, 2013. He is survived by his spouse, Gail Dement of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his father, James Edward Ortman of Camden, NY; his sister, Connie Bronson and husband, Bob of Camden, NY; his sister, Linda Nystrom of Sylvan Beach, NY; two brothers, Mike Ortman of Sylvan Beach, NY and Rod Ortman of Verona Center, NY. Mr. Ortman was preceded in death by his mother, Aristine Gerinell Ortman. Mr. Ortman served in Vietnam from 1968-1972. During his enlistment, Mr. Ortman was wounded in Vietnam and received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star with Combat "V". Mr. Ortman was a jewelry manufacturer in Albuquerque owning interest in Carlisle Silver Company and owned Ortman Enterprises for 15 years. Mr. Ortman died quietly at the VA Hospital after several weeks of illness. Arrangements are being made for a memorial in the near future. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery with Military Honors.
