NELSON, JAMES
James Nelson was born physically in 1924 and spiritually in 1938, when he was saved and became a follower of Jesus Christ, His Lord, through the ministry of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Albertville, AL. He is a veteran of World War II. He married Annis Dodd, his childhood sweetheart, in 1946. He and Annis have been serving as partners in missions and evangelism since 1950. He is survived by his wife, Annis, of 66 years, six adult children and their families. He previously served as a Church Planter and Pastor in Alabama, Missionary in Montana, New Mexico and Panama Canal Zone. He has also served on the staff of the Baptist Convention of New Mexico and the Home Mission Board of the SBC, and pastor/church starter during his college and seminary years. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Highland Baptist Church, 417 Palomas Dr. SE. Private interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Highland Baptist Church food pantry, 417 Palomas Dr. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108 or Noon Day Ministries, 812 Edith Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
