James Alton Moat, born July 25, 1942 in Waukesha, WI to Roy and Beryl Moat, passed On June 10, 2018 at the age of 75.
Survived by his wife, Elaine, married 40 years, and his five children; Merle, Timothy, James Jr., Renee, and Robert. James also leaves his seven grandchildren, a great grandchild and nieces and nephews.
James lived in Wisconsin where he worked as an auto mechanic, owning two separate service-stations and operated a commercial gasoline tanker for Amoco Oil Company for many years. During retirement, Jim and Elaine packed their bags and traveled the nation in their motorhome before finally relocating to the high-desert of Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2014.
James will always be remembered for his kind heart, his ability to talk to anyone, his mechanical genius, great sense of humor, scare tactics, and his impression of the almighty Waterford Laughing Snake. He was an active member of Unity Spiritual Center of Albuquerque, singing in choir and serving on the hospitality team. James was a devoted Green Bay Packer football fan and a faithful viewer of “The Price Is Right” television show.
He will be deeply missed, but our memories of Jim and the jokes he told will live in our hearts forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Unity Spiritual Center-9800 Candelaria RD NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112.
