James Edward Lloyd, 84 of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 2, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, to James Edward and Emma (Perry) Lloyd. He was raised in Detroit and he served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. While he was stationed at Biggs Air Force Base in El Paso, Texas, he met his future bride: Norma Margarita Galicia. They were married in 1957 and have been together for 58 years. He worked as a police officer in Detroit, worked in the tire business and then found his ultimate calling as a Pastor in 1977. Jim and his wife were 1976 graduates of Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His ministries included: Word of Life Church in Belen and Albuquerque, Christ the King Non-Denominational Church in Albuquerque and volunteering as a chaplain with the State of NM Corrections and the Albuquerque Police Department. Jim's greatest love, other than his wonderful family, was sharing the gospel of 2 Corinthians Chapter 5, verse 21; "For he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." James is survived by his wife Norma; his children: Stephen and his wife Joannie, Diana Monte and husband John, James and his wife Sylvia, Teresa Smith and her husband Michael, Larry and his wife Annette; his grandchildren: Lyndsay, Brittany, Tahnee, Courtney and Dylan Lloyd; Ariana and Lydia Monte; Hannah Szucs and her husband Aaron, Esther Gonzales and her husband Jake, Daniel, Joshua, Ruth, Timothy and Jaime Lloyd; Chloe Cawthon and her husband Taylor, Cezanne, Ceyvon and Cherish Chavez; and Jena and Christa Lloyd: 6 great grandchildren: Jeremiah and Natalie Rose Szucs, Caleb Gonzales, Gracie Lloyd, Isaiah Enriquez Lloyd and Jaxon Terry; and his sister Jean Mahoney and her husband Francis of Detroit, Michigan and their extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant son Thomas and his sister Emily Lloyd. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Legacy East Church, 4701 Wyoming Blvd, Albuquerque, with Pastor Tony Ramirez officiating. A reception with refreshments will follow the service at the Legacy East multipurpose building. Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, NM with military honors provided by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.
