James M. LaDue passed away December 20, 2012 following a long battle with a debilitating illness (he was 59 years old). He was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and is survived by his loving wife Lea Beth. Jim's son and his family further survive him: Marc and wife Jinnie Welliver, and their daughter Bloom (Jim's beloved granddaughter). Jim is remembered lovingly by his extended family; his father, Dick LaDue (and his wife Flo); his mother, Gloria LaDue; his beloved sister, Cheryl Quaine; and his nieces & nephews, (Mark, Jennifer, Rick, Maria, Michael & Matthew), as well as his brother Rick LaDue. Jim leaves behind his three dogs Jib, Maddie, and Katy, as well as his two grand-puppies Atty and Finch. They keep looking for him to throw the ball. Jim grew up in Michigan & got his Bachelor's degree in chemistry from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. He soon discovered that he preferred other avenues and worked as a bartender & beverage manager for many years before finally discovering his niche as a handyman extraordinaire. Jim was always "that guy" who could fix things and advise others on just about anything; boats, RV's, computers, electronics, gaming systems, model helicopters, movies, you name it. He told wonderful, descriptive stories and had a great sense of humor. He was always willing to sit down and listen to your jokes, stories or problems. He could remember and/or abuse the lyrics to every song ever written. He is and will continue to be sorely missed by all, including a multitude of friends & clients who became friends. A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held at French's Wyoming location at 11:00 am on January 5, 2013, followed by a reception at the family home at 3409 Tahoe St NE. Friends are asked to please share funny "Jim" stories at the service or online.
