KNIGHT, JAMES EAGLE James Eagle Knight, 89, a resident of Albuquerque, NM died Thursday, July 18, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Oleta Knight of Albuquerque; and one son Dwaine Knight of Las Vegas, NV. Major Knight had a long and honorable career in the United States Air Force. He entered military service on May 13, 1942 and completed 20 years plus active military service. During his service to our country Major Knight has earned the following decorations and service awards: Air Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and Air Force Longevity Service Award ribbon with four Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters. He was also authorized to wear six bronze service stars for participation in the India-Burma, Central Burma, China Defensive, China Offensive, Korea Summer-Fall, 1952 and third Korean Winter Campaigns. Jim Knight loved flying P-40s, P-51's, F-80's, playing golf, fishing, but most of all he loved his lovely wife of 67 years, Oleta. Services for James Knight will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at 1st Baptist Church 401 Ave. 1 South, Chillicothe, TX 79225 with interment to follow with military honors.
