James Arden Guernsey

One of the finest members of the honorable octogenarian club has passed.  James Arden Guernsey, went to his eternal resting place surrounded by loved ones at home, on Monday, September 23, 2019, at the age of 89.  He was three months shy of his 90th birthday.

Arden is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 66 years, Nyla Guernsey. They were married in Albuquerque, NM on June 26, 1953.

Arden is predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Ruth Guernsey; and four siblings, Eldene Miller, Lyle Guernsey, Elizabeth Bogart, and Dick Guernsey.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Nyla; sister, Luella Browne (94); his 4 children, Michael (Gina), Mark (Linda), Melinda Martinez (Chris), and Bryan (Ann); 11 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Arden was born on Saturday, December 7, 1929.  He was a carpenter, avid gardener, and loved to travel with his wife.  He served in the Air Force and was a devoted Christian and member of Netherwood Park Church of Christ.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH — Lomas.
