Age 59, a long-time resident of Albuquerque passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 12, 2015. He was born at Holloman Air Force Base, NM on May 2, 1956. He is survived by his daughters, Kathryn "Kat" Rose Grace-Newman (Scott) and Kristina Maria Stafford (Daren); his grandchildren, Logan Crockett, Telana Stafford, Wesley Stafford, and Graceyn Newman; mother, Rosemary A. Grace; and siblings, Joel Grace IV, Pat Kriley (Lance), Michael Grace (Josie), and Richard Grace (Bobbi). He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends who loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his father, Joel W. Grace III. James graduated from Tularosa High School, Class of 1974 and entered the United States Air Force in 1975 where he proudly served. After his discharge in 1978, he attended TVI. Upon completion of his education James went to work for Lovelace Healthcare Systems before going to work for Cerner in Kansas City, MO where he retired as a Lab Information Systems Technician. He loved music, playing the drums, fishing, and gardening. James was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Royals fan. He had a great sense of humor and had a smile which everyone loved. James was a beloved father who would move mountains for his daughters if he could. He was also a loving grandfather, and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Rosary will be Saturday, December 19, 2015, 8:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 9:00 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Road NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924
Menaul Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in James' name to the American Diabetes Association, 2625 Pennsylvania St NE, Ste 225, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
